The standing record of activities the university has already held, and how to use it.
What this page is
Bayan keeps a record of what it has held. Every conference, workshop, seminar, training course, ceremony, competition and community activity announced on this site stays on the site after it has taken place — it moves out of the upcoming list into the archive rather than being deleted.
The listings themselves are on events: past activities are the entries whose date has gone by. Longer write-ups of the ones that were reported appear in news.
Why the record is kept
- It is the university's own account of its academic and student life, in one place and in order.
- Staff planning something new can see what a department has already run, and who organised it.
- Students, graduates and staff often need to show that they attended, presented, competed or volunteered — for an application, a portfolio or an employer.
- Departments draw on it when they report on their work.
- It keeps published photographs and materials findable after the day itself.
What an entry holds
A past activity keeps the entry it had when it was announced: the title, the college or department that hosted it, the kind of activity, the date it took place, and a description of what it was. Where photographs were taken and released, they are added to gallery. Where a programme, booklet or set of slides was published, it is attached to the entry or filed under documents.
Finding something in the archive
- Open events and move to the past listings.
- Narrow by the college or department that hosted it, or by the kind of activity.
- Entries run in date order, newest first, so work backwards from the term you have in mind.
If you need more than the entry
Written confirmation of taking part — a letter, a copy of a certificate, a participant list — is held by the office or department that organised the activity, not by this website. Ask them directly, or write through contact saying which activity it was and roughly when it happened.
Photographs and recordings that were not published stay with the organising office and are released at its discretion.
