The IT Centre runs the accounts, the network and the systems the university teaches and administers on.
Every student and member of staff is issued an account at induction; it is what opens the e-library, the learning platform and campus email. A lost password is reset in person on production of a card — never by email or telephone, which is the point of the rule.
The centre also maintains the software on the teaching machines. A package a course needs should be requested through the department before the semester, not during it.
